“This visitation was unanticipated.” Jarral looked up from his books, fixing his father with that blank, cool stare of his.
The older man bowed his head, clasping and unclasping his hands agitatedly.
“Why are you here?” Jarral asked, blunt and to the point as always.
Web exhaled and moved a little closer. “I needed to speak to someone and I… I thought you would understand.”
The younger male tilted his head and slowly rose from his seat.
“Something you could not tell your brothers… nor your lover? Can I safely assume this is to do with your ailment?” His voice betrayed no concern
Jarral looked up from his papers, tilting his head at the slender, dark robed man who had just appeared from nowhere.
“Father” He spoke flatly and rose from his seat. “Why are you here?”
The other man bowed his head in customary greeting, his ashen face solemn. “It is done. Kaliani has reworked the family tree, she has found an appropriate heir. There's nothing the Elders can do.”
Jarral frowned. “Have you told the others?”
The other man shook his head. “No.. I... “
“They deserve to know.” Jarral's tone was firm.
“They'll only try to stop me.”
Jarral no
Gender dimorphism: To an outsider, the differences between the genders can be rather difficult to determine. While females do, in general, have wider hips and a small bust, the tendency for the Kevali people to dress in so many layers conceals this. Females do have slightly softer features and often somewhat shorter horns but the differences are so minor that to one who isn't Kevali, telling male from female by sight alone is a near impossible task.
Skin colour: Pale, almost ashen. A side effect of never seeing the sun.
Eyes: Kevali eyes are set at a heavy angle, sloping upwards. Eye colour ranges from dark indigo/blue to pale lavender and
Appearance:
Humanoid in form, Kevali stand on average around five foot three with little variation between the genders. Slender, fine boned with sharp features, both male and female not only dress identically but also seem to have little in the way of gender dimorphism. Females have small busts, usually concealed beneath layers of furs and hides, and while their hips are generally wider than males the difference is minimal, making the sexes difficult to distinguish to an outsider.
They have two four to five inch sweeping horns, their eyes are heavily sloping and most often various shades of purple and blue. These eyes have similar qualitie
Appearance:
Humanoid in form, Kalvair males and females both stand on average around five foot five.
Slender, fine boned with sharp features, both male and female tend to dress in fairly similar manner to one another. They dress for practicality though this doesn't mean they don't have an eye for fashion. Colour and ornamentation plays a major part in Kalvair dress, with a distinct preference for vivid shades and shiny stones which they wear in jewellery and hair ornamentation.
Females have small busts and slender hips, which combined with the Kalvair's apparent lack of gender specific clothing can make differentiating the sexes difficult
Sister Races Origin Myth: Jen Mayo
1: Long before the second sun had risen, there lived the Sevai, a proud, noble and pious race of people. Dwelling in great cities, they built monuments and commanding temples to their gods, whom they believed had blessed them above all other creation.
Their cities grew and the people prospered under the watchful gaze of their ever-loving gods.
2: Science and technology advanced in great leaps and bounds and the temples declared such knowledge a gift from the gods themselves, for the intellect of the Sevai and their science was what set them apart from lowly animals.
3: Soon however, this belief wou
The Sister Races Pantheon:
Akantarak (Mistress of twilight or lifebringer) - Moon Godess of birth and life.
Avatar - The priestess Terah, an adolescent girl. Pale skinned with waist length silver hair and vividly purple eyes.
Suravi (the mad god)- Sun God of death and suffering. In actuality two beings within one body, constantly fighting for dominance over the other. (Since split into two beings known as Surya and
Aditya, the sons of Night.)
Avatar Jael, a judge. A man in his late fourties with greying hair worn in a long braid. His eyes burn like coals.
Surya (he who b
Fate – Not part of the original Sevai pantheon or indeed even considered a god as such, Fate was worshipped by the Dark Ones. Even today it is still honoured, partly out of respect and partly out of fear. Fate is the only god of the sister races not to have taken a physical form, instead relying on mortal receivers to steer events. Fate doesn't consider itself a guardian, it is more a manipulator. Setting events in motion, ensuring what is written comes to pass… which has often lead to it coming to blows with the elders. While the elders demand that things remain the same and that they protect the people they were sworn to till extinction, fa
